The nordfuel biomethane plant currently under construction at c-Port on the Küstenkanal is scheduled to go into operation in mid-2023.
Following approval for an early start to construction a few months ago, the final building permit has now been granted by the Oldenburg Trade Supervisory Office. FRIESOYTHE revis bioenergy GmbH from Münster as the planner and developer and nordfuel GmbH (Friesoythe) as the future operator are delighted to have received the final approval for the construction and operation of their state-of-the-art biomethane plant at the c-Port on the Küstenkanal.
The Oldenburg Trade Supervisory Office (GAA) had intensively reviewed the submitted documents and expert reports over the past few months and, following preliminary approval for an early start to construction, has now granted final approval for construction on Monday (November 7, 2022).
Simon Detscher, Managing Director of revis bioenergy: “The final approval that has now been granted is an important milestone for us in a project that we at revis have been pursuing intensively for over four years.”
He thanked all employees, experts and partners who compiled the documents for the approval of the plants as well as the GAA for their consistently constructive cooperation.
In recent weeks, legal reviews of the draft decision have been carried out before the public announcement of the approval is made.
Detscher: “Especially in these times of climate change and the well-known energy price crisis, it is good that the plant we have designed will soon be able to produce climate-friendly fuels.”
Construction of the plant on the Ems-Dollart-Ring will now go ahead as planned.
Jan-Hendrik Friedrichs, Managing Director of nordfuel: “We are very much on schedule. I assume that we will put the plant into operation as early as mid-2023.”
From then on, high-quality green gas will be produced from manure from regional agriculture in the plant, which is designed according to the latest technical possibilities.
Friedrichs, who has been working on site at the Küstenkanal for several weeks, announced that following the installation of the first tanks and numerous preparatory works, the plant construction will now continue.
In addition, nordfuel will intensify its efforts to recruit employees in the coming months.
Friedrichs: “As soon as the plant is in operation in the middle of next year, we at nordfuel will have created exciting new jobs for which we will be looking for new colleagues in the coming months.”
